Mercatiamo is a project of the \u201cParma Sostenibile\u201d Social Promotion Association, inspired by the principles of the Solidarity Economy. The idea is to create a welcoming and community-oriented space that is attentive to the needs of both producers and consumers: a market where people can confidently purchase products of safe and verified origin, independent from the commercial policies of large-scale retail. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mercatiamo markets take place three times a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday) in three different locations across the city of Parma. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than 30 small farms, social cooperatives, and local processors involved in the project adhere to the Participatory Guarantee System (PGS), a shared certification system that actively involves producers and consumers in monitoring product quality and sustainability. This approach fosters mutual trust and transparency, while reducing the need for costly official certification schemes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the services offered is the BioBorsa, which allows users to order products online and choose whether to collect their basket at one of the markets or have it conveniently delivered to their home. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Short and local supply chain: <\/strong>Mercatiamo supports a short supply chain by reducing intermediaries and ensuring fair prices for both producers and consumers, while strengthening the local economy and lowering environmental impacts.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Educational activities: <\/strong>Far from being solely a market for the sale of organic products, Mercatiamo also promotes food education, environmental awareness, and social responsibility through educational and demonstrative activities.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
